So i've finally got my camera to work, and i've taken a couple pictures of my pet project in it's infant form. Technically this is the Mark II, since Nojim decided that the first rendition was rubbish and summarily disposed of it. I've certainly made some mistakes with it, but that's what art is right (the original green front hub shattering in my hands wasn't a desired result)? There is still much to do before it nears completion. I'm still assembling the electronic bits and working out how to install the led's. once that is done, the rods that surround the pitcher "glow-y bit" will need glued on, and I need to find new rods to make the three forward arms out of, as i've misplaced the old ones. After that (or perhaps before, i'm not quite sure which is better) the opaque parts will need spray painted so that our hero won't be running around fighting off zombies with a clown's prop. However, I am pleased with where this seems to be heading. Enjoy this small sneak peak :D

I need to start a Dream Journal

So i was having a dream and we were living in a huge house overlooking the town in the valley we grew up in. And then suddenly a whole bunch of nukes start going off in the valley, like 8 nuclear bombs which is complete overkill for that, and we knew this was happening because we were watching from the big windows in the basement (so we'd be safe from the fallout) and in order to help everyone that was in the town we stole all of the lead vests from the dentist so we wouldn't die from radiation. Then in a somewhat disjointed dream I went to my brother's house to kill him, i don't know why dude, i'm sorry, but we were both grown up and you were a cop or a detective and I was your ex-partner and we had a shootout and i shot you and then you were dying in my arms and we talked for a while and then you died and i was sobbing. And then I woke up and I was like, "Oh no, I killed him!" It was a pretty weird night.

Just watched The Castle of Cagliostro on Hulu. It was fantastic, been along time since i've seen Lupin, i don't know if they still show it on AdultSwim anymore, but it was a good show. I can see that my niece has good taste.

So i was driving home after work last night, its not far and i was in no hurry, i'm just cruising along right at the posted limit and there's a car behind me. he gets really up close and i said to the rearview mirror, "Hey man, i'm just doing the speed limit..." IMMEDIATELY after i said that, red and blue lights in my mirror. I was like....
WHHHHHAAAAATTTTTT???!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I pull off the road and my mind was racing. i've never been driving and seen lights in my window before, "Was i speeding? was i going to slow? am i driving erratically? do i have a taillight out? are my plates expired? AHHHHH!"
and then the cop just blows by me, and takes the left i was just going to take at the light.
i was like 0.o
i was so freaked out and so relieved at the same time.

Really though?

I never thought that having a job would be the issue. Finding one, difficult. Getting it, hard enough. But just having it? This stretches my patience and my understanding.

I find that what i miss most is being told i smell nice....

I have found over my years spent on the road that I have been gifted with a peculiar and oddly useful skill set including: the ability to sleep anywhere, on anything, in any position for copious amounts of time; knowledge of the finer details of the Truckstop Shower Method, and proficiency with improvised tools that has transferred amazingly well to the college scene.

Just Because I Can....

I have a hard time accepting the piano as the main improvising instrument in a jazz song.

My Name Is...

so it has been revealed to me that for some time I have been abbreviating Duamuteffe's name incorrectly. I have always refered to her as Daum, for no real reason other than its the way i first processed her name and haven't discovered the discrepency since. Its funny how the mind can get used to a word and thereafter skip over it, getting the meaning of it but ignoring the real word. I recall a study that found that humans don't even recognize the word "of" in a sentence.
anyways, i just want to know if a change would be polite, i can understand that i would be put off if someone called me Dug, even if it is what they've always done.

So, its 3:45 am, just finished some homework in the computer lab on campus. i think i'm going to put off setting up the new computer till tomorrow, as excited i am about it. Further thanks are in order for all those involved, so thank you Owlvark for getting everything prepared, i hope that someday we will meet. Thank you Shiksa for the transport and lunch, its always great to get out and spend time with you. And thank you Daum for all the borrowed culture. I'm not exactly sure who to thank for the physical computer itself, but let the owner know that it is appreciated.
